Frankie Oatway.(Strippers Actor) and Alan Barnes Actors Coach

Alan Barnes actor and Actors coach

Alan and i met 14 months ago when being cast and working on a commercial together in Germany’s capital Berlin .We were both invited to go along to an audition for a big commercial at the time we didn’t know each other at the audition and even after we were told we got the part.

It wasn’t until we were about to board the flight that we realised we were going to the same shoot in Berlin.I will never forget the first words that left Alan’s mouth he looked at the size of my suitcase and noticed how big and heavy it was and said (You planing on staying for a year) I laughed and said well know not really mate its just that i do tend to try and ware my own clothes as much as possible for any sort of filming if i get the choice you know what i mean) From there on over the course of the next few days Alan and i became very close friends

The commercial was a German production and extremley proffessional and a German director you can imagine the laughes we had doing this. The set up was we were builders on a German building site about to order our lunch me being the largest of the gang .We are all in a Portacabin sitting round a table.

Im looking at everyone opening there lunch boxes and they start looking at me sitting there with nothing. All of a sudden the door flies open and in walks a Sushi delivery fella he shouts out (Who ordered to Sushi.)

The others were supposed to look supprised when my hand goes up and say yes its mine in German .Well they done about 12 takes and by the time i finnished i was about two stone heavier. What made it worse i had to say it in German it gets worse the director said in a typicle German accent.(You will eat zaa pizza Frankie and zen look at zee others and startz a laughing)

Well we all looked at eachother and pissed our selves it was a bad version of The Great Escape very funny. After finishing the commercial that day we all went to a beer festival and had a great time the commercial is about to be released over the coming weeks.

From that week onwards Alan and i are now best friends at the time i was about to take part in several productions although very new to the industry Alan took time to look at some of the work i was doing .One was a Theatre production he imediatly offered to help me get into shape to perform for the project.

Like always good to his word Alan worked with me like no one i know Alan didnt let on but he is an excellent acting coach and put me through my paces.I was playing the lead part in the show so the part was very demanding. To this day without Alan i would never got through it.

Alan was an english teacher in his early years and that along with his ability to coach was a dream come true in my mind the best in the game at coaching actors .If i was to give anyone some advice who wants some guidence and from a proffesional this man will do the business .And give you all the tools you need to get you ready for either an audition or for film TV or Theatre

To this day i know my success would have been very different if i never met Alan the name of his set up is called BU think about it  simple really. Please feel free to take a look at the clip below and take time to make a note of his mobile number along with IMBD links.

Alan  is very modest anyone that really knows this man will know he doesnt blow his own trumpet. When one day he out the blue he told me he worked reguler on BBCs Eastenders ITVs The Bill and endless other tv productions to many to name .

In fact it was Alan who played Bent Old Bill in the episode in Eastenders who nicked Dirty Den.A record audience was recorded for viewing figures and Alan was right in the middle of it.

Along with this he played a reguler part in The West End hit The Graduate with Kathleen Turner and Jerry Hall .The storys Alan has to tell are brilliant and you will be hearing many more of them on here over the coming years .

Alan run his own Theatre company and made his mark in the industry for over twenty years he has to many credits to mention but one West End producer by the name of Terry Johnson cast Alan in the TV production of COR BLIMEY the story of Barbera windsor and Sid James relationship.

Yet another great body of work by the dark horse Alan Barnes his work speaks volumes. Below is another typical exapmple of how Alan is so very versitle.Last year i was cast to play a corrupt Police Detevtive in a film by Phil Visili .Called The Crack i told Alan about the film and asked him if he would be interested in coming along for the day.

Low and behold Alan turned up i suggested to Phil it would be blinding if Alan could play one of the parts in the film. That very day Alan took part and nailed it like always. Please take time to look at the video clip below. Hope you enjoy it and find Alans story interesting feel free to contact Alan for advice and your coaching needs

Frankie Oatway .Strippers Cars For Cash TV series Episode 3 American Muscle 22nd Oct

Tonight on Nat Geo and Nat Geo+1 and Nat Geo HD Channels will be broadcasting Episode 3 American Muscle 22nd October 2012 this episode like so many has some very funny moments.if you’ve seen the trailers for the show you would have seen me with my head in my hands there is a perfectly good reason for this.

its got something to do with the car choice i made unfortunately it had to be done there was no other option. The only type of car we had available with the look and especially the condition was vital to create this episode there’s not to many Thunderbirds available in The UK. And you definitely wouldn’t send this one out to rescue someone. It looks like its been well and truly FABd Virgil.Brains must have done a disappearing act and went down the boozer when he clapped eyes on this car.

It left me to buy the motor from a farmer in the North of England and low and behold when the motor was revealed to me for the first time no one was more shocked than me.It had moss growing on it there was Foxes sleeping in it .The windscreen looked like it had been in a bad episode of Dukes of Hazad instead of diving through the side window to get in someone looked like they dived through the front one. It was rolled and the only thing that worked was the electric seat belts even they was on the blink.

There is some great scenes to this episode the car itself was at one point in its life a great car the engine is massive and it will be interesting to see who i sell it to on tonight’s show.

The seats have a great story to them the punter comes down from up north to meet  me at my office or should i say my command post. They arrive and look shocked at the state of my office and set up junk yards of all junk yards .They then try to explain to me how they make office furniture out of car seats.

Again the language barrier kicks in they think i sound like I’m talking Eskimo language with a London accent .What unfolds is like something out of Crossroads except I’m playing the part of Benny. The fellas try to explain and demonstrate how they put the frame and seats together. All i do is get in there way and make something simple look very complicated very funny. Its a must to watch photos and video will be posted here over the next few days hope you enjoy tonight’s show

“Frankie Oatway”

Frankie  Oatway The British actor will Interviewing the British and Commonwealth title holder Georgie Groves on the 19th June on British TV

General breakdown of history of the upton brothers and the clubs they thought for and are currently fighting for …..Along with these details will be some background relating to the trainers they spent time with and the likes of the Commonwealth and Lonsdale Title holder “Georgie Groves”….. The club that gave these group of boxers a chance and a steer in the right direction from as young as seven years old….. Was and is now considered to be one of the best boxing coaches in the British isles….. This man is a great friend of mine……. And has now made history in the sport by having produced not only an Olympic champion but now the Commonwealth and Lonsdale belt title holder “Georgie Groves” …..

The name of this man who runs in my mind one of the best training and coaching facilities in England is Micky Delaney .The club is the Dale Boxing or better known as the Dale Youth Boxing Club…… Micky Delaney has shown how a tiny little place with limited resources in the middle of one of the most run down and working class environments in Nottingdale in the centre of Nottinghill Central London like any London Borough a rough and ready place to be brought up in …….A place where i spent a lot of time as a kid  i decided to joined the Dale Youth ……And had a go at the sport of boxing myself  like all the local kids in the neighbourhood turned to this as a way of escaping the tough and hostile environment……. Especially for the working classes this area was no stranger to crime and villainy so when Micky took control of the Dale Youth he reached out to not only the young talent but invited the families too…. it was an instant family set up from the point Micky took it on the chin so to speak …By dedicating his own time energy and  some times his own money to prove to these kids that there was another root they could go down in life….. Without looking at the production line of crime on the streets of London…

I used to work with Micky for many years at  BBC TV in Shepherds Bush  we used to work the shows building sets in the studios in Wood lane……  But when everyone who went home to there families after work Micky wold spend his spare time looking after the kids in the way of nurturing the new talent as young as 5 years old….. From there this man  has produced without doubt one of the best boxing hopefuls this country has ever produced namely Georgie groves…. Along with Georgie’s success and again trained and spend time looking for hopefuls in the sport appeared a group of local kids  four brothers between the ages of at the time seven  to fourteen…. Who go by the names of Anthony being the youngest Sonny Pauly and the eldest James Upton…  A Group of dedicated boxers from Nottingdale along with there talent and being possible contenders for 2012 Olympics.. These group of boys were among many other kids that showed Micky how much in the way of determination along with big hearts will with any luck could be the new names to look out for in the sport….

This group of youngsters were initially trained and boxed for the dale youth who Micky took under his wing but also due to a location and family ties to east London had to relocate and this meant joining and leaving Micky’s nursery of great fighters…. Now the boys joined Dagenham Boxing Club again instantly had more trophy’s to add to the cabinets. And like Micky the club decided immediately that this group of boys had legs to make it in one of the toughest sports… Again the location issue resurfaced and like before had to move and again joined West Ham Boxing Club in East London instantly while there gained more recognition and like before now fount them selves boxing in one of London’s finest venues that being York Hall in Bethnal Green achievements included gold medals for all manor of bouts and all four brothers were now being taken very seriously. Being from London but the family roots and ties to Ireland there big dream came as no so surprise when they along with there father that the only way to go is to the top and take the boys to Ireland .And now there the boxing fraternity are now fully aware in Ireland how much potential this group of boys have now fighting for one of the best gyms in Ireland and one of the best managers in Ireland Gerry Story MBE. They fulfilled not only there dream but there fathers too and now box for the Ireland team….The proof is in the pudding as they say just look at the success story and how big an impact the likes of Georgie Groves has made on the world  if you like i would like to compare him… To the great Henry Cooper who not only conducts his self like a true gentleman but never forgot like the Upton brothers were there bread was buttered and the gratitude they give  to my good friend Micky Delany ……Please watch the televsed interview on the 19th June 2011 on  Youtube  produced by BBTV and hosted by myself Frankie Oatway
